Sydnee graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with honors. That summer, she was selected for the Dow Jones News Fund’s News Editing internship program. After an intensive one-week editing workshop at Temple University, Sydnee traveled to New York City to copyedit full time on the The New York Times’ Foreign and National news desk. Upon returning to metro Detroit, she accepted another full-time copy editing internship position at The Detroit News, where she edited arts and entertainment, local, and national news. Since then, she has worked at numerous regional and national news outlets as a copy editor, from Hour Detroit to BuzzFeed News. At the same time, she has worked as a freelancer in the fiction publishing industry. Over the past decade, she has completed editing and proofreading passes on dozens of novels in various genres.
Although her editing and writing work transcends categories, fiction is her first love, and romance and fantasy are her favorite genres. She is a member of ACES: The Society for Editing and the SFWA.
Her hobbies include painting, taking naps, and staring pensively out a window while it rains.
